Normally they carry it in a backpack or any other bag and when they go out they rtry and take good care of it my friends mum does it and her handbag is 13 years old and only 1 scratch tiny though!

usually the really expensive ones come with a dustbag. its just a little pouch where you can store your purse in to shield it from the elements.

depends if you`ve got leather or fabric, whatnot.. i spray the bottom of my fabric ones with the all-protect stuff you use on shoes.. it keeps`em from getting wet or scuffed. for leather stuff, there`s literally lotions you can buy from any ol`bag store to keep it `supple`

I try to buy 2-3 good quality handbags instead of 10-15 cheap ones. Two I use for work/everything... they're medium size, versatile and functional. The other one is bigger and I use it for school or if I want to carry more things around with me. I have a lot of little clutches and things for going out. i don't spend much money on those since I only use them occasionally.
The key is to buy good quality things. Nice leather lasts much longer than polyester. When you're shopping make sure the bag has structure, a lining inside, sturdy straps and quality stitching. If it has these things, it should last for years.
If you want to store handbags try stuffing them with tissue paper so they retain their shape.
